This unique sea glass piece has a thick, rounded oval shape. It features frosty white layered with deep red, the red so dark that it looks nearly black in appearance.
The North Sea has tumbled this piece into a flawless, pristine gem. It measures 7/8" long x just over 3/4" wide x 3/8" thick and was beachcombed along a seashore in England.
The swirled look originates from multiple colors of glass that were mixed together when in the molten stage. Whether the original glass was created as an artistic piece or was from an industrial bottle-works site, it has resulted in a multi-hued chunk that was discarded into the sea. The piece spent many decades thereafter in the surf being shaped and conditioned.
It will arrive with a card which tells the short story of sea glass and the name of the ocean where it was beachcombed from.
