These one-of-a-kind earrings feature sea glass of rich royal blue layers swirled inside each sea polished piece. They were found separately along the shores of England's North Sea. Exquisitely shaped and conditioned from the ocean itself, the 1/2" long baubles are complementary rather than exact matches and have shades of cobalt, turquoise, aqua, cornflower, and white in each smooth bauble.
They are finely drilled horizontally through the top edge and secured with sterling silver "swinger" pinch bails that run through the holes. They dangle gracefully from sterling silver French hook ear wires. The total length of each earring measures 1.25" long.
The swirled look of these sea glass pieces originates from multiple colors of glass that were mixed together when in the molten stage. Whether the original glass was created as an artistic piece or was from an industrial bottle-works site, it has resulted in multi-hued chunks that were discarded into the sea. The pieces spent many decades thereafter in the surf being shaped and conditioned.
Your jewelry will come in a gift box with a display card that tells the short story of sea glass and the name of the ocean where your pieces were found.
