Red Banded "Swinger"

This one of a kind, genuine sea glass piece has tumbled in the sea for decades before washing up on a rocky North Sea shoreline in England. It shows layers of red and berry running through the gem in bands over the top of a frosty white base.

The sea glass measures 7/8" long and has a thick, teardrop shape. It is 3/8" thick. The swirled look originates from multiple colors of glass that were mixed together when in the molten stage. Whether the original glass was created as an artistic piece or was from an industrial bottle-works site, it has resulted in a multi-hued chunk that was discarded into the sea. The piece spent many decades thereafter in the surf being shaped and conditioned.

It is finely drilled from side to side and securely held with a handsome, sterling silver pinch bail that fits through the drilled channel. The bail allows the sea glass to playfully swing slightly forward and back. The total pendant length is 1.25" tall. It hangs on a 22" sterling silver bead chain. This gem is very smooth and conditioned but does have a bit of pitting near the bottom.

Your necklace will arrive in a cotton-lined gift box with a card that tells the short story of sea glass and the name of the ocean where your piece was beachcombed.
